A well respected individual employed in the business sector approached us at Investigator Agency Plymouth. The client held concerns that individuals at a company that rivalled his own had been spreading rumours about him to damage his reputation in both a personal and professional capacity. The negative press that these inappropriate and false remarks had produced had already resulted in a considerable loss of clientele that the client was eager to remedy.
The client put forward several names that he suspected were behind the misconduct but had no proof against and requested that the claims be investigated and evidenced. Our operatives complied and soon found a host of information against the suspected individuals that would be enough to have them legally convicted of slander and the claims made against the client discredited. A further twist was brought to the case however when one of the suspects positively identified proved to be the brother of the client. Rather than convicting his brother immediately with the evidence he possessed the client requested that further information be uncovered which would indicate his brother’s motives for deceit. After this further investigation was concluded it was discovered that the client’s brother had set up a deal with a number of local media groups in which his company would be given purely positive press to cover up employee misdemeanours in exchange for unflattering information against the client.
We presented the client with a full report demonstrating his brother’s intentions from which he deduced that the best course of action would be to pursue a legal case against all parties involved and attempt to publicly repair all damage to his reputation.
