A call came in to Private Detectives in Plymouth from the owner of a hair salon. He had reason to believe that an ex-employee was setting up as a freelance hairdresser and was stealing clients from his salon. After a nasty incident our client was forced to put in place an injunction against him opening a salon or working as a hairdresser within a certain radius of the salon as per a contract that the employee signed stating he would not do these things.

We said we can help to locate him and using covert techniques try and gain his confidence. We attempted to make contact under the pretext of making an appointment with him on recommendation from a friend on a number given to us by our client. There was no reply but after leaving a message received a text back asking if we wanted a hair appointment. No communication was received after that point so our client requested surveillance be instigated outside the subject’s home on any given day. Surveillance was therefore commenced at the home address. Our Target was covertly followed and filmed at various points along the route as he visited three separate properties on foot carrying a large holdall at all times. At each property he stayed over two hours and the final property he visited by taxi after returning home for some lunch.

It would appear on the basis of the observations made by our surveillance operative and it is his opinion that the subject is still conducting business as a hairdresser on a mobile basis. This information was used by the client in bringing further proceedings against his ex-employee.
