A young man approached Private Detective Agency in Plymouth with concerns over his girlfriend’s fidelity. The client had been in a long distance relationship with the same woman for over two years and never had suspicions in the past but recently had begun to have doubts over her faithfulness to him. Over the phone and in video calls the clients’sgirlfriend has started to become very distant with him and seems nervous to talk and avoids the subject of friends and her social life. This unusual behaviour has led to the client’s suspicions and though he has no specific individual in mind she is living near an ex-boyfriend and believes that they have recently got back in contact.

The investigation began with surveillance of the clients’s girlfriend in an attempt to see if there was any truth behind the allegations. In all the hours of surveillance no suspicious actions or encounters were seen and this was reported to the client. Following this the client requested further investigation of the target’s contacts and meetings which again produced no suspicious results. After no evidence against his girlfriend was found the client decided to drop the investigation and simply confront his partner on her unusual behaviour to try to discover the problem between them.

This confrontation revealed that the individual had been planning to break up with the client for some time but felt uncomfortable about doing so over the phone or internet but had not been unfaithful to him at all. Though the client was upset by this conclusion he was happy to know the truth.
