A young woman came to Plymouth Investigator after being approached out of the blue by an unknown man who claimed to be her real father. Obviously distressed by the strange situation she found himself in the woman came to her mother to find out if there was any truth in the claim or if it was fictitious or a joke. When she started to question her mother about the encounter she responded very emotionally and produced no coherent answer. This response made the client question the family she had lived with all her life and led her to further question her mother on the subject.

After another emotional conversation the client discovered that the man she had believed to be her father had only entered her life when she was two years old and her biological father had not been seen since that time. It became apparent that the client’s mother had left her father when she was very young and moved away without telling him to marry the man who had been raising her daughter since.

The client came to us after these events wishing to locate and make contact with her biological father. After divulging the details retained from their brief encounter weeks before we were able to make checks with the available information and identify an individual fitting the profile as well as contact information for that individual which the client was able to use to locate her father and establish the relationship with him that she had been denied.
